Job Description

Job Responsibilities

Leadership and Supervision

  • Supervise and direct assigned employees in alignment with company policies.
  • Coordinate with department managers and supervisors to ensure effective operations across all relevant areas.

Facility and Asset Management

  • Manage the maintenance and upkeep of all physical assets including the building, capital equipment, and facility infrastructure.
  • Oversee utility systems and implement efficiency improvements related to energy and equipment usage.
  • Ensure grounds maintenance through direct supervision or coordination with external contractors.

Environmental, Health, and Safety Compliance

  • Oversee the hazardous waste program and ensure strict compliance with federal and state environmental regulations.
  • Execute and maintain the company’s Environmental Management System (EMS), ensuring adherence to OSHA standards, AS9100, and ISO 14000 requirements.
  • Develop, update, and distribute annual and quarterly inspection schedules.
  • Maintain accurate logs, inspection records, and related checklists.
  • Conduct or coordinate internal audits and inspections related to EMS.

Engineering and Technical Oversight

  • Provide plant engineering support for production needs, including the modification or adaptation of equipment.
  • Evaluate, select, and manage external contractors for construction and repair projects, ensuring contract compliance and quality standards.

Financial and Administrative Responsibilities

  • Manage the maintenance department’s budget, including planning, tracking, and cost control.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support operations and company objectives.

Supervisory and Physical Requirements

  • Regularly required to stand, walk, and use hands and fingers to operate tools or controls.
  • Frequently bends, stoops, kneels, crouches, climbs, balances, and reaches with arms and hands.
  • Must be able to lift up to 45 pounds occasionally.
  • Requires specific vision capabilities, including close, distance, color, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Required Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree in a technical field or equivalent experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Minimum of 7 years of shop experience in areas such as:
  • HVAC and boiler systems
  • Welding
  • Electrical and plumbing
  • Elevator and forklift operations
  • Proficiency with ISO 14001 Environmental Management Systems.
  • Strong communication skills across all levels of the organization.
  • Proficient with PCs; experience with MRP systems is a plus.
