Salary: $73,270.00 - $109,902.00 Annually Location : College Station, TX Job Type: Full Time Job Number: 2402285 Department: IT Department Opening Date: 09/23/2024 Closing Date: 11/22/2024 11:59 PM Central Hiring Range: $73,270.00 - $84,260.50 Annually Description Under general direction of the Network Systems Coordinator, the Netrwork Systems Analyst is responsible for long range strategic planning, design, administration, setup, connectivity, operation and maintenance of all network hardware and software components and infrastructure. Interface with end users, provide network related technical support for all city personnel involved in computing. Project manager for network related projects. Principal Duties

  1. Maintain an advanced level of expertise in the operation of Microsoft Active Directory networks to include the installation and upgrading of operating system software through self study and formal continuing education.
  2. Establish networking environment by designing system configuration, directing/conducting system installation, defining, documenting, and enforcing system standards
  3. Manage secure remote network access through the use of radius, TLS, and VPN technologies.
  4. Coordinate with vendors regarding hardware and software maintenance and warranty information for the network. Develop, prepare, and test scripts used for network maintenance.
  5. Manage network security including firewall, SIEM configuration and alerting, NAC management, and access to data on all servers. Advise users of security requirements and how it affects their use of the network.
  6. Maximize network performace through design and management of the IP network layout and routing.
  7. Assess the need for repair/replacement/upgrade of network components and software running on the network to include changes to memory, disk space, operating systems, WAN connectivity, and server processing speed.
  8. Implement and manage network backup systems and storage solutions
  9. Manage growth and the design of the City's VMware infrastructure.
  10. Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications Required: Bachelors Degree in MIS or related field; and two (2) years experience as a network administrator; or five (5) years experience as a enterprise network administrator; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties. Texas Driver's License. Ability to obtain Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) Foundation Certification within the first twelve (12) months of employment. Ability to pass FBI 7 year background check. Preferred: Five (5) years experience in Microsoft Active Directory design and management. Microsoft Exchange 2010 and later design and management. Five (5) years experience in firewall configuration, management, and auditing. Experience with Commvault Simpana backup solution. Experience with layer 2/3 switching and routing configuration specifically OSPF routing. Experience managing a VMware vsphere 5.x and greater environment. Supplemental Information
