Acts as a Primary or Associate Nurse utilizing the Nursing Process to care for adolescent/adult/geriatric patients and their families. Performs designated clinical procedures required by the department and consistent with principles and hospital policy and procedure.

Job Description:

Pre-Admission Screening (Remote)

• Adheres to patient needs and performs procedures according to established guidelines. Evaluates patients’ progress in health care. Demonstrates the ability to independently manage the care of patients undergoing diagnostic and interventional procedures in the Department of Radiology.
• Identifies and evaluates patient/family learning needs. Implements teaching plan based on identified needs, using resources where indicated. Provides education to the elderly based on identified developmental and resource needs. Evaluates the effectiveness of the teaching plan and documents the patient’s understanding of and compliance to the plan.
• Identifies learning needs of health care team and supports individual clinical development where appropriate.
• Identifies appropriate educational needs in area of practice and seeks appropriate assistance. Attends all mandatory educational programs.
• Communicates in all areas effectively.

optimization of patients for elective orthopedic surgery

• Comprehensive review of health history and for high-risk patients.
• Reviews relevant diagnostic testing from specialty providers (cardiology, hematology, pulmonology)
• Obtain pertinent patient health information (PHI) from outside provider and institutions.
