ABOUT THE COMPANY
Our client is a leading facilities services organization that has been around for 60+ years, and they are seeking a Senior Accountant to join the Accounting team! Very relaxed and team-oriented work environment! There is often lunches on site, barbeques, and overall a strong sense of community here! The office is located in Fairfield, NJ and are going in daily.
Position Responsibilities of the Staff Accountant
● Prepare journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations.
● File and remit state and local sales tax returns.
● Manage fixed assets and lease accounting (ASC842).
● Collaborate with auditors and support process improvements.
● Work cross-functionally to resolve accounting issues.
● Maintain knowledge of accounting practices.
Education & Qualifications of the Staff Accountant
● Bachelor's in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
● 2+ years of accounting experience; CPA progress preferred.
● Big 4 and Sage Intacct experience preferred.
● Strong GAAP knowledge and advanced Excel skills.
● Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
