Role Description: The Cyber Security Intern will support the Information Technology team in monitoring, analyzing, and detecting cyber events of interest. This includes identifying inbound and outbound IT assets and monitoring Operational Technology (OT) systems such as SCADA and PCS for any cyber threats. The intern will work closely with other teams to improve the security posture and gain hands-on experience in cybersecurity. Essential Duties & Responsibilities: As a summer Intern, we will provide you with: A real-world experience on exciting projects Connections with recent college graduates and our company leaders Performance of assignments under the direct supervision of a department lead Performance of other work-related duties as needed Your essential functions include, but are not limited to: Leverage Security Incident and Event Management (SIEM) systems to monitor cyber events. Learn fundamental programming languages like KQL (Kusto Query Language). Monitor Operational Technology (SCADA/PCS) systems for potential cyber events and vulnerabilities. Supervisory Responsibilities : Not applicable Key Working Relationships: Skills & Qualifications: The qualifications listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and ability necessary for an individual to perform each essential responsibility satisfactorily. Reasonable amounts of training are provided. Required Skills & Qualifications Required Experience: A strong desire to learn and grow within the cybersecurity field. Flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic work environment. Ability to communicate effectively with cross-functional teams. Minimum Education Requirements: Must be currently enrolled fulltime in an undergraduate or graduate program Must have at least 30 credit hours complete Must have a minimum 3.0 grade point average Required Skills: Proficiency with Microsoft Excel. Experience with network discovery tools. Required Licenses & Certifications: Not appliable Required Languages: English Physical Requirements: Ability to lift 50 lbs.
