Lubbock, TX , that is actively seeking a seasoned
Tax Manager to work
onsite for a full-time opportunity paying
commensurate with experience . This role is ideal for a professional who excels in leading client-facing engagements, overseeing tax compliance activities, and guiding internal teams within a structured and growth-focused environment. The position requires a strong background in public accounting, extensive experience reviewing complex returns, and a high level of professionalism when advising clients on intricate tax matters.
Requirements of the Tax Manager: • Oversight of client tax engagements, ensuring accuracy and compliance across individual, corporate, and partnership filings
• Strong command of tax planning strategies and the ability to advise clients proactively
• Hands-on experience preparing and reviewing 1040, 1120, and 1065 tax returns
• Ability to manage workloads, project timelines, and internal staff assignments
• Minimum
5+ years of relevant tax experience
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline
• CPA designation is strongly preferred
• Proficiency with QuickBooks (Online and Desktop)
• Familiarity with GAAP and both cash/accrual tax basis accounting
• Experience with professional tax software (CCH preferred)
• Strong communication, leadership, and client relationship skills
• Ability to adapt to changing priorities and guide team members effectively
• Additional relevant tax or accounting skills are a plus

Responsibilities of the Tax Manager: • Lead assigned client relationships and ensure consistent, timely communication
• Review complex tax returns and support tax compliance requirements across multiple entity types
• Manage office workflows, tax projects, and staff assignments
• Support broader accounting and advisory initiatives as needed
• Participate in tax planning, billing activities, and internal firm programs
• Identify opportunities to expand client services or address additional needs
• Maintain confidentiality and follow firm standards for sensitive information
• Train, mentor, and develop team members to enhance overall performance
• Occasionally travel for client visits or meetings as required
• Extended hours may be necessary during peak seasons
• Other duties as required
