The Data Engineer II will play a critical role in building and optimizing scalable data pipelines that enable smarter business decisions across the organization. You will work on transforming and managing data to support diverse business needs, troubleshoot complex issues, and improve deployment and CI/CD processes. This role offers the opportunity to mentor junior engineers, contribute to architectural decisions, and collaborate on long-term strategic projects. Accountabilities:

• Design, build, and optimize robust data pipelines using Python and SQL.
• Transform, manage, and integrate data from multiple sources to support analytics, reporting, and business use cases.
• Mentor junior engineers and promote best practices for clean, testable, and maintainable code.
• Collaborate on architecture and project planning for long-term data initiatives.
• Improve deployment processes, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure automation.
• Troubleshoot data issues, perform root cause analysis, and participate in on-call rotations.
• Ensure scalability, reliability, and performance of data platforms and pipelines.

Requirements

• 3+ years of hands-on data engineering experience.
• Advanced proficiency in Python and SQL.
• Experience with Apache Spark, Kafka, and orchestration tools such as Airflow or Prefect.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and infrastructure tools (Terraform, Docker, Kubernetes).
• Strong understanding of analytical databases (Redshift, Athena, BigQuery).
• Excellent problem-solving, technical leadership, and communication skills.
• Passion for innovative design, high-quality code, and collaborative work.
• B.A./B.S. in a related field or equivalent work experience; M.S./M.A. preferred.
