Location: Pensacola, FL (Preference for in-office, hybrid or remote or Hybrid or remote considered for the right candidate)

Position Overview:

Aylstock, Witkin, Kreis & Overholtz, PLLC is seeking an experienced Claims Adjuster to support our litigation efforts in fire and catastrophic loss cases throughout California. This role involves evaluating claims, assessing damages, gathering critical information and documentation, and guiding clients through the claims process. The ideal candidate has strong expertise in catastrophic property loss, understands California insurance regulations, and possesses excellent negotiation skills when working with insurers and other stakeholders.

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Review and evaluate fire and catastrophic loss claims, including property damage and business losses.
  • Assess the extent of damages and determine fair compensation based on policy coverage.
  • Gather and analyze information, documentation, and evidence from clients to support claims.
  • Guide and assist clients through the claims process, ensuring they understand their rights and next steps.
  • Work closely with attorneys and experts to analyze reports, estimates, and supporting evidence.
  • Negotiate settlements with insurers, adjusters, and other parties as needed.
  • Maintain detailed and organized case documentation.
  • Provide insights into industry practices and standards to support litigation strategy.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience as a Claims Adjuster, with expertise in fire and catastrophic loss claims.
  • Familiarity with California insurance laws and regulations.
  • Strong negotiation skills and experience working with insurers.
  • Ability to analyze complex claims and damage assessments.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work directly with clients in a supportive, professional manner.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage multiple claims efficiently.
  • Experience working with legal teams in a litigation setting is a plus.
